藍縷的修辭學The Rhetoric of Indigotic Rags

製作藍靛過程中過濾石灰水所用的濾布留下了工作的痕跡,

綿延交錯曲折纏繞的縫繡線走過另一層書寫的意圖或非意圖。

這一系列作品的八張棉布是來自製作藍靛時的過濾用布,石灰質的滲透沈澱滋養了時間的痕跡,摩擦與重量則改變了邊緣、誕生了縫隙。

順著記憶我們尋找出路,沿著出路我們展開了華麗的步伐。

以稿紙、地圖、書法、資料卡、點字等書寫記錄的形式做鋪陳,從文到紋、從text到textile,以針代筆,在藍縷上展開書寫的旅程。打結與勾連,改寫加重音,用女性與勞動的書寫成就另一種文本。這些修飾語不斷增生,隱身在迂迴的文字迷宮中,重新註解或誤讀了前世的記憶,或一切只是徒然。

These filter cloths that make up the artwork were used in the process of indigo dye production, during which the settling calcium carbonate in the indigo mix bit into the fabric and left on them traces of time, while friction and weight affected the edges and gave birth to the slits.

We find the way out by following the memories; along the way out we make magnificent moves.

Arrangements are made in the forms of writing and recording, using manuscript paper, maps, calligraphy, data cards and braille. From text to texture/textile, pen replaced with needle, a journey of writing begins on the indigotic fabric. Knots with bullion stitches and crochets, editing plus accenting; an alternative text achieved through the writing of femininity and labour. Modifiers as such continuously proliferate, hidden in the tortuous windings of the maze of script. They may have remarked or misinterpreted memories of previous lives; perhaps all is in vain.
